The latests news about the DIET Agents platform:

  • 14 Mar 2005. Release of DIET Agents Version 0.97. Only relatively small improvements have been made, but ones that developers should find useful. In particular, the new MirrorFactory interface makes it much more convenient for agents to initiate communication with a remote agent.

  • 23 Dec 2004. Release of DIET Agents Version 0.96 and Elvis Version 1.02. The new release of the platform includes many improvements in the ARC layer. For instance, the behaviour of job managers has been improved and extended. There are also various new jobs and other utility classes, many of which are demonstrated in the new job sample application. Most classes now also generate detailed toString output. Also, in the core layer the visualisation model classes have been completely seperated from their underlying implementations. As a result, visualisation classes require minor changes, which is why a new release of Elvis has been released as well. Download it now

  • 1 Nov 2004. Release of DIET Agents Version 0.95. This release provides support for agent persistence as demonstrated by a new sample application. This application also demonstrates new functionality that enables you to easily control groups of agents. Furthermore, the platform can now also run over SSL sockets.   • 29 Jun 2004. Release of DIET Agents Version 0.94. This release includes much better support for remote communication. The implementation of Mirror agents that provide transparent remote communication has been made more robust and efficient. Furthermore, so called "message channels" have been added as another way to achieve remote communication. There are several new sample applications that demonstrate these new remote communication facilities. Many other minor improvements have been made as well. See the release notes for details.   • 6 May 2004. First release of a Java 1.1 compatible version of DIET Agents. A version of the DIET Agents platform that is compatible with JDK 1.1 has been created. It enables you to run DIET Agents applications in a wider range of environments, including for instance hand-helds with a basic Java runtime environment. Download it now

  • 7 Jan 2004. Release of Elvis Version 1.01. Version 1.01 of the Elvis visualiser has just been released. It has been updated to work with DIET Agents Version 0.93. Download it now

  • 7 Jan 2004. Release of DIET Agents Version 0.93. Version 0.93 of the DIET Agents platform has just been released. It includes improved visualisation support, other improvements and minor bug fixes. Download it now

  • 25 Sep 2003. Release of Elvis Version 1.00. Version 1.00 of the Elvis visualiser has just been released. It is an elementary, generic visualiser for the DIET Agents platform. This is the first public release of the visualiser. Download it now

  • 25 Sep 2003. Release of DIET Agents Version 0.92. Version 0.92 of the DIET Agents platform has just been released. Most significantly, it enables you to use the Elvis visualiser, which has also been released today. Download it now

  • 12 Sep 2003. Release of DIET Agents Version 0.91. Version 0.91 of the DIET Agents platform has just been released. The main change is that the API has been improved by replacing the term "infohabitant" by the more meaningful and concise term "agent" everywhere. However, it also includes other improvements and extensions. Download it now

  • 5 Aug 2003. First public release of DIET Agents. Version 0.90 of the DIET Agents platform has just been released. It is released under the GNU GPL license. Although the platform software has been developed for three years, this is the first version of the platform that is publicly available. Download it now

  • 1 Aug 2003. The DIET Agents website is online. The software will be available for download soon. Subscribe to the diet-agent-announce mailing list to be notified.
